Pheww, blogged Bersih 3.0 really made me pissed off so am blogging movies to balance my emotions. Well, if u have read ROCH in my previous blog, u will know what is it about and I know its super long so I doubt if anyone would like to read it all, probably stop mid-way. Haha, anyway, i will keep this short, ok? The third novel of Jin Yong is Heaven Swords and Dragon Sabre, features Zhang Wuji and a Mongol princess, Zhao Min. Not going to elaborate much on the plot coz dun really like this novel. This novel set in China of Yuen Dynasty, almost 100 years after Song dynasty ended. You are right, the Mongols invaded Xiangyang City in the end and captured the capital, beginning the Yuen, ending the Song. The Yuen was governed by Mongols and many Chinese were mistreated. After Yang Guo and Xiao Long Nu returned to Gumu, they were never heard of anymore. Huang Rong and Guo Jing melted the Junzhi Sword to become the Dragon Sabre and Chunu Sword to become the Heaven Sword. The Sabre had a kungfu script of 18 Ways to Defeat Dragon (Guo Jing's main kungfu) and the Heaven Sword contained The Nine Yin White Skull Claw. In case if you have noticed, I translated directly from Chinese. Lol...then the sabre was given to Guo Puo Luo and the sword to Guo Xiang. When the Mongols invaded the city, Huang, Guo and his son die together as the city fell in the enemies' hand. Guo Xiang made her escape and explored Jianghu. No records on Guo Fu and her husband. Guo Xiang then founded Ermei Sect and developed skillful swordplay. She also saved Zhang San Fung, the founder of Taichi and Wudang Sect. Since then, Ermei disciples and Wudang disciples cannot fight with each other due to the friendly relationship of both founders. It was known that Guo Xiang became a nun, probably she loved only Yang Guo and never opened her heart to others. She also lost her family and decided to become a nun and stayed out of the world matters.
Why Ermei Sect is important? Because it existed till today and has disciples worldwide. Yes, its true that Ermei is real and the founder is indeed Guo Xiang but the real Guo Xiang's background was not fully understood. Zhou Ziruo, the protagonist in this last sequel is a disciple of Ermei and eventually succeeded the position as leader from Nun Mijue. She possessed both Sabre and Sword. Only the leader of Ermei knew the secret of both weapons. After she possessed them, she studied the Nine Yin White Skull Claw and became prominent in her new kungfu. She defeated many experts including Zhang Wuji who happened to purposely lost in the match. She did many bad deeds and clawed Zhao Min before.
Later, a mysterious yellow dress maiden appeared and fought with Zhou. Her kungfu was similar to Xiao Long Nu and people address her Miss Yang. She defeated Zhou with her own orthodox Nine Yin White Skull Claw. Zhou met her only match. During her last meet with Zhang, she gave a hint to him that she was a descendant from The Condor Couples (Yang and Long). Dont know if she was the daughter or granddaughter. Most probably it was their daughter because she told Zhang that her father was related to the Beggar Sect (referring to Yang) but one may asked, 100 years of gap and their daughter was still young and beautiful? The secret may lie beneath the Gumu kungfu which disallow one to have emotions, making them look young forever. Same goes to Long, she still retain her 18 years old look although she was 40s when she reunited with Yang, 16 years later. Okay, thats all...Goodnight.
